The punk is playing at my house

O… yet again been pretty slack. Now there’s lots of stuff to report though so it’s a-ok.
First on the agenda is 730 RADIO… Luke and I with our good friends Patrick and Oliver Fisher recorded the 3rd show a couple of weeks ago and it’s been up to listen and download for a while. If you’re into radio shows with little, or no professional standards, constant chatter and damn fine songs then you’re on to a winner. AND if you’ve never heard it before you have about 3 hours of your life could squander right there and then listening to us. Also, also, also in an attempt to raise the standards we got Patrick and Ollie to record a song for us, a ’session’ if you will, ‘live’ in our ‘lounge’. It turned out real good i think and it’s effectively a 100% exclusive as it doesn’t exist anywhere in the world ever. ever. Thanks chaps. So yeah, click on the words 730 RADIO to be taken to aural heaven.

The next bit of news is The Steal’s second album, BRIGHT GREY, is now at the printers. It’s going to be a quick turn around… In June we didn’t have any new songs for an album, at the end of September it’ll be on the shelves of shops awaiting purchase. I’m really pleased with how it’s come out, the actual album is something i’m super proud of, it’s completely relentless and unlike the first record there’s nothing I would change in it’s 17 minute duration. Also the artwork looks real nice and features a photo courtesy of my best buddy, the only the only… Bruno Folklore.
It’s also going to be the first time i’ll have had any music etched on to a 12″ piece of wax, something i’m very excited about… that should look really pretty too, it’s grey fading into clear vinyl. Altogether now… OOOOooooo.

You can pre-order the album from Banquet Records if you desire OR we’re having a release show on Weds 24th September at Bacchus in Kingston. This should be a lot of fun as the place is tiny… we played there nearly 3 years ago with Captain Everything! and that was ace despite no-one knowing the songs so hopefully this should be about 10 million times better. yes!

Here is the tracklisting and a lovely poster, as you can see we’ve taken to nicking song titles as well as songs now…

1. The Possibilities are Endless
2. Disconnected
3. Dave Gets Mad
4. No Control
5. Fashionless
6. The Angles
7. Repeat
8. Keep Moving Forward
9. Got Ideas
10. Horror Vacui
11. Breathe In
12. Statues
13. Kids With Kids
14. Keep It Simple

ALSO ALSO ALSO…. Hot Damn now have a video!! Courtesy of my very good friend Tom Stokes and Cerebellum Works… It’s for our song, ‘Tunnels’ and he has done very, very good job indeed, we’re all super stoked on it AND not only that but it features Frank Sidebottom… who actually used to scare the crap out of me when I was a young ‘un. Thankfully now I can face that fear head on…

Dead Pigeon

haha.

O.K.

Have you ever heard of a band called okay?

The gig last night at the Cowley Club was rather good indeed, highlights include earl grey hardcore, medleys, Fisher nods, playing being loads of fun and the Efrafa punisher… he was really into it.

ok.

Teenage Sex

I’ve been meaning to put up a picture of the finished print from the Self exhibition for a while now… and  so here it is! Mark did a smashing job. If you are tempted to have one of these adorn your walls you should go here to buy one. They’re £40 whole english pounds. Chuck Yourself In… it’s only like 4 months till Christmas or something…

Bright Grey

I’ve just had a very relaxing but hectic week in Devon… Peter Miles is a talented man and writing an album in a month and recording it in 2 days, despite what you might think, IS possible.
